Someone needs to point out that Spurrier does more with less when comparing USC to other SEC schools, not Clemson
Only watched the combine briefly this afternoon because I missed Shaw and Ellington's groups, but I did get to see Sammy Dopkins show off his brick hands by whipping out his patented move of dropping the ball

One QB that didn’t have a lot of buzz heading into the Combine but might be leaving with some is Connor Shaw. The former Gamecock was physically impressive (he ran the third fastest forty, had the third highest vertical and the second farthest broad jump) and looked very confident throwing the football as well. Before the Combine started many had Shaw as a sixth or seventh round pick, but after his performance today he may see his draft stock climb a little. Shaw also got some nice press from his former coach Steve Spurrier, with the old ball coach comparing Shaw to Russell Wilson. You combine that with his work on the field in Columbia, where he was the school's all-time winningest QB and never lost at home, and you might have a later round gem in Shaw.

INDIANAPOLIS – South Carolina quarterback Conner Shaw, of Flowery Branch High, and Georgia State wide receiver Albert Wilson had strong days on Sunday.
Shaw had the third-fastest 40-yard time (4.66 seconds) of the quarterbacks. He also had the third highest vertical jump (34 inches), fifth-best broad jump (9 feet, 8 inches), fifth-best three-cone drill (7.07 seconds) and 11th-best 20-yard short shuttle in his position group.
“I’ve met with Tampa Bay and Jacksonville,” Shaw said. “(I’ve had) a bunch of informal talks. I think I have met with every team except for about seven for informal interviews. It’s been a good bit. I did not talk to the Titans but I talked to them twice in L.A. at the all-star game.”

>> Conner Shaw of South Carolina might have done the most to increase his draft stock. Shaw looked comfortable making, all of the throws during the on field drills, and finished in the top four of the five workouts in which he took part.

Connor Shaw, South Carolina, 4.66: Unlike Thomas and Morris, Shaw is a player that could very well end up on the Eagles. Viewed as a late-round prospect, Shaw showed the ability to both take care of the ball and hurt the other team on the ground last season. Shaw finished with just over 2,400 passing yards and 24 touchdowns to just one interception last season. Combine that with 558 rushing yards and six touchdowns, and Shaw is exactly the kind of prospect the Eagles could take in the late rounds.

Connor Shaw, South Carolina: Shaw opened a lot of eyes today. He ran a 4.66 in the 40 and threw the ball exceptionally well. There will be many talent evaluators that will be watching a lot more tape on him in the next few days.

Connor Shaw, QB, South Carolina – Shaw’s athleticism will get him a look late day three as a development prospect. He ran a 4.66 forty, had a 34” vertical, and a 116” long jump. At 6’ tall, Shaw is in the Manziel boat, but obviously doesn’t have the same arm. Maybe a team with a scrambling quarterback may take a late shot on him as a developmental player. - See more at: LINK

5. Connor Shaw South Carolina Shaw ran a 4.66 forty which was a bit surprising. I knew he was a good athlete but I didn’t think he was that good. Shaw also threw the ball pretty good. He’s got a live arm and shows good touch on the fade and corner route. He has the body of work to match the work out. Shaw will be a solid fourth or fifth round value.

Bottom Line: Ellington is an intriguing prospect, and his performance at the combine definitely helped his stock. Andre Ellington, his brother, had a fine season with the Arizona Cardinals last year as a rookie running back, and Bruce has a similar body build. He should be able to contribute right away in the return game and could develop into a dangerous slot receiver and occasional weapon out of the backfield on third downs.
Projected Round: 3-4

South Carolina's Bruce Ellington had a strong showing as well. He opted against playing for the Gamecocks' basketball program this season in order to prepare for the draft. It seems to have worked.

He'll be just over 4.5 for the Official time. BEAST

I'm having a ball though. This is a lot of fun.
Dee Ford didn't quit the Combine, Clowney made his arse quit. Seriously though, he was weak and quit. Weird that Auburn coaches let him play with a herniated disc and DGAF. Was he really that much of an impacy player? I had never even heard his name mentioned until November of his 5th year.

He was a role player in college and will probably fit in the same spot somewhere in the League. He's not terrible, but he probably won't be All-Pro any time in the foreseeable future. Seeing as he's so mediocre, maybe he should come out of the closet... it seems to be the best marketing move for borderline NFL players.

Yeah, I don't get why the Aubies are so defensive about this guy. This guy calls out Clowney, says he's better, Aubies make threads/pound chest. Then the guy bitches out of the combine, it's for something that could be a serious medical issue that their staff ignored, I call the guy out for being a bitch and not being able to back up his mouth,..and now they hate me.
