Whittle at 247 put out an article naming guys who are projected to be back next year. While it is VIP, I don't feel comfortable naming names right now. However, once the draft is completed and it becomes a little more obvious, I'll spill. For right now, suffice it to say that 2 outfield starters could/should be back, another position player that saw a good amount of action should be back, and some (3) arms on the pitching staff that were counted on a lot especially towards the end of the season will be back. So all is not lost.

Next year's outfield should be Campbell (LF), Hopkins (CF), and Jacobsen (RF). That is if Olsen is drafted and signs.
I think we will be solid next year. Not sure what the infield will look like though. Riley Hogan at First is the only one I see, unless LT doesn't get drafted super high.

The potentially drafted outfielder could be looking at a move to the infield if not drafted. Another infielder is a guy that was mostly behind the dish for his career but saw some time at first this year.

So, Olsen and Cullen?
I could see Cullen playing first or third next year, TBH. Not many 6'5" catchers in pro ball (save Greiner).
If both of those guys come back, I feel pretty good about next season.

LT got drafted 13th round, think that's high enough for him to leave?

Maybe. I hope he comes back and builds on the great year he had, but that is one of those borderline rounds.

I found this quote about one of Skylar Meade's pitchers at Michigan State. Tell me the description of how this guy is used doesn't sound exactly like Eddie Demurias.
quote:
Mekkes was straight up filthy this past season. Pitching in the Big 10, Mekkes struck out a remarkable 96 batters in just 57 innings without surrendering a single home run. The catch is that he pitched exclusively in relief — though he wasn’t used like a typical reliever, and actually pitched more like a starter in some cases. Mekkes averaged over two innings per appearance in relief, and frequently threw many more than that. Most notably, he tossed six shutout innings in an extra-inning game against Maryland. Unlike most college relievers, he wasn’t a one-inning guy, which helps explain why KATOH likes him more than most relievers.

Spot on. Demurias has become one of my favorite players on the team. Love his ability to go multiple innings, as well as get us out of jams.

Draft over. Here's the shizz. TJ and Olsen look to be back. LT gone. Graham Lawson and Ridge Chapman were two of the pitchers I was referencing but they look to be gone. Eddy looks to be back and they are looking at having him be more of a starter.

I think eddy signs but wouldnt be stunned to have him back

So, it looks like LT Tolbert is the only returner who hasn't signed. Does anyone have any insight on him? He would be a huge piece of the puzzle if he decides to return.

I still think LT signs, just waiting to leverage more money out of Arizona

Yeah, losing him bothers me. Dude stood the hell up for Shaddy after that debacle at the CWS, too.
