Gamecocks head to the Swamp for a nooner with UF...clearly we all know Spurrier will be playing with one arm tied behind his back with the USC defense in complete disarray. here's a look at what the Carolina offense will have to contend with in order to win.

FLA D vs USC O - SEC games (7 each) only;

FLA defense 364 YPG
USC offense 475 YPG

FLA 71 plays per game
USC 75 plays per game

FLA 4.85 yards per play
USC 6.34 yards per play

FLA 26.1 ppg
USC 35.6 ppg - Carolina averages a SEC best 40.1 ppg on the road in conference play.

FLA 850 total rush yards
USC 1223 total rush yards

FLA 1697 total pass yards
USC 2104 total pass yards

FLA 42% Opp Third Down Conversions
USC 43% Third Down Conversions

FLA 81.82% Red Zone Defense (11 TD 7 FG 22 Attempts)
USC 81.47% Red Zone Offense (18 TD 4 FG 27 Attemtps)

FLA 16 Turnovers Gained (-1 in SEC play)
USC 11 Turnovers Lost (-6 in SEC play) - USC has only gained a league worst 5 turnovers in SEC play this season.

I almost want to say it's a moot point given our defense. All they have to do is what they did to UGA and they'll be golden. Our offense won't even get as many chances to score as much clock as they could eat up.

indeed. I think Spurrier alluded to holding the ball might be even more important than scoring in his presser today.

UF threw what - 6 passes ? - in Jax?

He's only 10 games late.

Offense chokes in the 4th, defense continues sucking.

Been the trend all year and I expect it to continue in Gainesville.

Offense may choke earlier in this one. I hope not but I do not hold much hope for us in this game.

UF in The Swamp, with their confidence building, probably spells major trouble for us because our confidence may be at an all time low under Spurrier right now.

Gosh I hope I'm wrong. I was seriously wrong about this season heading-into it, so I hope I am seriously wrong right now.

I hold no expectations of the game, or any for the rest of the year to be honest. This is the first time in such a long time I have been ready for baseball to start.

My liver thinks I'm an a-hole.

Yep, almost sounds like our offense and their defense cancels each other out, but defense has always been the king in the SEC, so I'll always give the team with the better D the edge. And as poorly as our D has been, it'll make their offense look like world beaters.

Especially running the ball: I wouldn't be surprised to see UF run for 300+ yds against us Saturday. It'll be another case of our offense needing to keep up with how fast our defense allows the opponent to score, but in this case UF's defense will make it tougher for us than past teams have...
