Billy, you're talking to yourself again and this time in a thread with your name. Narcissism at it's best.

I wanna know what I said.

Hot takes are my specialty.

So I probably won't remember this convo since now I'm chad.

I don't know what IBG said or what asinine thing your referring to, but if it has anything to do with the media and most everyone else giving Boom a pass on not playing Scarnecchia at least one series against TAMU then I'm with you.

After how polished Scarnecchia looked against Mizzou and after Jake's miserable first 3 series against TAMU capped off by an unbelievably ugly interception in the end zone, how can Muschamp say he "never considered" playing Scarnecchia?

It's just shocking and I've got no explanation for it other than something that sounds somewhat conspiratorial.

I don't know what Muschamp may have promised Jake to get him to SC. I do know that Scarnecchia is not a Muschamp recruit. I know that benching Jake this late in his career at SC would likely be seen by the Bentleys as detrimental to his football future.

Sounds crazy, implausible, but was Muschamp afraid Scarnecchia might actually go in the TAMU game and look better than Jake? Was he afraid Scarnecchia goes in the game and looks polished while leading a deliberate drive down the field to score a TD? What happens after that? Does he have to bench Jake for the rest of the game and then make a decision about a starter for UT?

Is there any doubt in any of our minds that our previous coach, after seeing Scarnecchia perform against Mizzou and then watching Jake throw the interception in the endzone, is there any doubt Spurrier would have played Scarnecchia against TAMU after Jake's first 3 series and interception? We know he would have.

But now Muschamp not only doesn't give Scarnecchia a series against TAMU but he says he "never considered" playing him? I'm at a loss to explain this except the somewhat conspiracy theory above.

I'm not saying Scarnecchia is the better option at qb, but he IS an option when things aren't going well. We have been told for years that we couldn't win an SEC game with Scarnecchia. Well, we now know that to be completely false. I don't care how bad Mizzou's defense may be, Scarnecchia's passes and his presence in the pocket simply looked better than Jake has looked.

I have been backing Muschamp 100% since he was hired but I'm now wavering. Muschamp has put me in a position where I'm almost hoping Jake fails so miserably in the first few possessions against UT that there is no choice but to play Scarnecchia, so we can at least see more of what Scarnecchia might be able to do. Based on Muschamp's comments, we'll never see Scarnecchia the rest of the season unless Jake becomes a complete liability or gets injured.

Wow dude. I would never wish any of our players to fail. Scar looked very good against a bad Mizzou team. Jake looked good against them also in the past. There is a reason Mike has been here sitting on the bench for 5 years under 2 coaching staffs. I would never wish for any of our QBs to fail. That's crazy.

Yeah, like I said, I'm not happy about having this thought in my head, but yet that's what's happening because I don't understand why Scarnecchia didn't get some snaps against TAMU.

As far as Mike sitting on the bench under two staffs.....

He had only been in the program one and two years under Spurrier and the interim staff, so not playing then has some validity.

But now?.......Go find Eric Kimrey's "The Fade" podcast and listen to the recent one with Ellis Johnson as a guest. EJ was on Muschamp's staff as an advisor and he said during practice Scarnecchia makes all the throws. EJ said, "In fact you don't know which quarterback is throwing until the quarterback turns sideways so you can see the number".

So seeing Michael play against Mizzou and hearing EJ's comments, I"m at a loss to explain why Scarnecchia didn't get an opportunity against TAMU after he looked so polished against Mizzou and capped the performance by taking the offense on a game winning 1 minute drive at the end.

We'll never know but I think if Jake had come out in the 3rd Q and still struggled, Mike would have gone in. Jake played very good in the 2nd half but was plagued by dropped passes. One thing that has to be considered is that Mike is a senior. Unless there is clearly a separation, you have to go with the guy that will be here next year. I would say the same if the roles were reversed between Mike and Jake.
For God's sake, get that failure thought out of your head. Bad karma.

I remember Dylan Thompson proving he could win big games, but I don't remember Spurrier ever pulling Shaw for him if he got off to a bad start. I wonder if it was a conspiracy, or maybe it was the fact he'd won a lot of games for the program and was the more talented player?

Scarn played well and didn't turn the ball over, but without a monsoon he loses the Missouri game. Let's not pretend he's Tom Brady just needing his shot. The Purdue backup threw for damn near 600 yards against Missouri. Jalen Hurts looked good against them too.

Agree^^ Im getting a little annoyed of the casual fan that doesnt realize that Mizzous pass defense is the worst in the SEC and Jake has lit them up in the past. If you put scarn out on A&M or Tucky I'm positive he gets rocked.

And watch Scarns long ball attempts against Mizzou. They were atrocious. The long balls Bentley were throwing were hitting receivers directly in the hands. He cant catch it for them too.

Pay attention, and if you cant pull for your qb and are rooting for him to fail, then make sure you arent at the game. We dont need you there (Toneski)
