I saw a lot of positives. I thought Joyner looked pretty sharp at times. CWM looks to have a continuing and progressive movement ongoing !

Urich at WR was pretty cool.

Hilinski threw for over 200 yards at a 67% completion rate. Take the screen play by Urich away and Joyner was 9-22for 121, less than 50% completion rate.
TBH Ryan, with only a couple of months in the program, is our most accurate QB and has the best arm BUT will Muschamp have the guts to pull Jake for someone else when he has his " flake out moments ".

Imo, if we are going to take our lumps this season then turn the ball over to Ryan by the 4th game and let him get ready for 2020.

We already know Muschamp will never bench Jake

The dv'er only goes after the elite top posters, like CG and myself, so consider it a compliment.

Not just the top posters. Best thing is to ignore. Very childish. I can't imagine being that bored with life.

With the schedule that we have this year, Ryan Hilinski would be best served to sit as a redshirt and get some mop up reps. Let Jake take it, at least he’s a senior with a good understanding of what we do. Have Dakereon be the backup, and let the competition rage on in the off-season next year.

We don’t want to ruin Ryan’s future by throwing him into the fire of THIS schedule.

The schedule doesn't get any easier the next couple of years. Hilinski came out of arguably the toughest high school confrence in the nation. Kids coming out of high school are more prepared for college. Joyner does not have the passing ability to beat out Hilinski. Ryan should be #2 and get playing time all season so he is prepared to take over 2020.

I agree with all of this. Theres nothing to really gain from throwing a true freshman in the fire this year unless Bentley gets injured.

Why give Joyner reps at the #2 spot when Hilinski is the better qb? Why not let Ryan take #2 spot and gain experience in a whole season, instead of a possible 4 games, when he is going to be the starter next year?
Send the message to recruits that if you're good enough you can play as a freshman.

Because DK has already taken a redshirt. In all reality, you'd like RH to do the same.

In reality, if RH is as good as advertised we'd like to see him beat out Jake in camp.

Even the more talented QB isn’t exactly ready to beat out a talented senior. Ryan Hilinski is leaps and bounds more talented than Bentley, but it’s still fair to say Bentley has talent, just inconsistency.

and experience. we have a brutal schedule. I would hate to see a young QB placed in a situation like that. Hoping Jake can take care of the ball and let Ryan and or Dak play when the situation warrants.

So you would prefer that our starting QB for 2020 comes into the season off of a redshirt? The only difference in the schedule from 2019 to 2020 is we replace a home game with Alabama with a away game at LSU.
If Hilinski is our future give him the experience now, while we have Jake, instead of ojt the following year.

Who cares if Dak has already redshirted! So you want to give Dak the game experience just so in 2020 we can start Hilinski with none?

That is not what I said at all. No where in my post did I say red shirt. The ideal situation is to have a senior experienced guy start and play most of the game. Sprinkle in the new guys when the situation allows. This might be during a blow out (win or lose) or if Jake is playing terrible. If I were playing a new guy, I would allow them to run the offense. Going in and handing off does little to help them develop. The good thing now is that you can have a player get experience in 4 games and still preserve the red shirt if you can.

I guess my concern is if Ryan is going to be the starter ( all signs point to this) in 2020 why only give him 4 games of experience and why give the other guy a years worth of experience if you know he isn't the man next year. Ryan can be #2 getting experience all year and then the following year you can redshirt Doty , since Ryan would be returning starter 2021.
