Yep, right off of Bishop Bottom Road. I love the smell of that place when you walk in the door. First time I ever went there was with a friend from Sylacauga back in the 70s when we were on leave straight out of Jump School. Have been a couple of times since during Auburn ballgame weekends.

Do they have a website?

Unfortunately, we're not getting that far south. We're taking the boy to the Rocket and Space Center in Huntsville.

But thanks for the 411, we'll add it to the memory banks...

A very close friend of mine, Mickey Lawler ( his son Brian played baseball for USC) grew up in Sylacauga. Small world.

Home of Gomer Pyle, Jim Nabors.

My buddy, still close friends today, is black. His Dad was the best butcher in town in the 40s, 50s and 60s. But he was famous for taking part in the first attempt at an animal to human organ transplant ... pig intestines to a human. He took the intestines out of the pig and handed them to the surgeon's nurses and assistants. There were newspaper clippings of it all over the house from all the major newspapers. They made a movie about it. Great family. I used to have a great time staying with them.

Been some good football players to come out of that area and nearby Phenix City.
