OrTre Smith is looking more and more like a Gamecock commit these days, I hope he makes the right choice for his future.

It's been said on here and other sites that 4* S Hamsah Nasirildeen may commit this week. Well I just realized that if he's going to do it, it very well might be this Friday. Concord plays Kannapolis (AL Brown HS) in a 100 year old rivalry game this Friday. It's the 15th oldest HS Rivalry in the nation.

It should be on TV and is a huge game for Cabarrus County. It's called the Battle of the Bell. I've been to it several times, as I had family who played for Concord.

I wouldn't be surprised that IF he announces this week, it's at that game with all the people and media around.

Per TBS via CT, Nasirildeen is on campus today. I am thinking good thoughts.

Also I played around with the class calculator a little on 247, if we land OrTre, Nasirildeen and J-Will, we will jump from 26 where we currently are to 11th in class rankings (just ahead of the tiggers!).

That's assuming no changes in other classes obviously, which is unrealistic. Still exciting to think about.

With Hamsah being on campus, it would make a lot of sense for it to be him.

I reckon we will have to wait until Friday but yeah, Nasirildeen is gonna be a Gamecock!

It's official now, Hamsah committed to SC

Hamsah's teammate, class of '18 4* DT Rick Sandidge, just picked up another 247 CB for SC. We've also moved up to 'Warmer" for him, which basically means we're out front.

I'm sure Hamsah will encourage his teammate to come to SC as well.

Some Gamecock, great Gamecock and good football players out of Concord over the years.

- Tommy Beecher (say what you want about his college game against NC State, but in HS he was and awesome QB.)

- Alec Lockavitch went to Marshall Univ

- Andy Boyd. great Gamecock, really good person too. Coaches at Heathwood Hall now.

- Jay Graham - yep, the coach that got away.

- Rocky Reid, RB we should've pursued more, ended up going to Wake Forest after UTk messed around with his commitment.

E.Z Smith, played for Paterno at PSU.

Lance Lewis -wasn't heavily recruited but lit up ECU and is now in the NFL.
BJ Beecher went to ECU as well.

Terrance Knox is up at unc.

Way back in the day, Jimmy Hitchcock, who was Auburn's 1st All American ever. in football and baseball.

I've heard for years though that some people felt as if the HS staff could do a better job of getting their players film out there more and help more with getting guys scholarships. I think there's a ton of potential in that area and on that team for a pipeline if people just check them out everyyear. They seem to always have a winning record and are going deep into the playoffs.

My source on that was about as good as you can get. Glad Nasrildeen pulled the trigger this soon to build some momentum!

Is Hall class of 2017 or 2018?
