7. Clemson and South Carolina will move their game to a parking lot: Perhaps no rival coaches exchange verbal jabs as much as Clemson's Dabo Swinney and South Carolina's Steve Spurrier. Spurrier is 6-2 against the Tigers during his nine-year tenure at South Carolina, and he loves reminding Swinney about his recent five-game winning streak in the series.
After South Carolina defeated Wisconsin 34-24 in the Capital One Bowl on New Year's Day, Spurrier said winning bowl games in Orlando was nice, and "that state championship isn't bad, either." Two days later, after Clemson beat Ohio State 40-35 in the Discover Orange Bowl, Swinney boasted about the Tigers becoming the first team from South Carolina to win a BCS bowl game.
The Gamecocks and Tigers might want to move their annual game to a beach in Charleston, S.C., or a parking lot outside a mill in Greenville, S.C. Spurrier would probably win, regardless of the setting.

I think his prediction was that it didn't matter where the game was going to be played, Spurrier was going to beat Dabo next season.

Does he realize 6-2 = / = nine seasons. Unfortunately the record is 6-3.

This usually involves him favoring UGA

I said Schlabach was a UGA homer in another thread on tRant, and I got called to the carpet for it. Glad I'm not the only one that sees it.

Oh, we all see it ... but you gotta remember, the SECr is basically a Western Division board with a heavy UGA contingent.

You can't claim Schlabach is a UGA homer, or David Pollack or Stinchcomb either for that matter, without expecting the usual suspects to rush forward in defense of their boys ... all three of them Georgia grads and UGA homers, without a doubt.

I mean two of them played at UGA, and Schlabach graduated from there, covered them for the AJC for a decade, he has a home there ... well, close enough. You can see his house from the I-20 bridge crossing over the Oconee River just before you get off the Athens exit on the way to Atlanta, or Athens, all depending upon your perspective because he (Schlabach) lives almost smack dab in the middle of Atlanta and Athens ... and for a reason.

It's a problem we have to face, in terms of UGA's presence on ESPN right now, and the upcoming SEC Network.

Now, we've got Chris Low to some degree, but not by much. And we're close to getting Travis Haney back ... from what I hear, he may end-up back our way working out of the new Charlotte offices.

Bama has Finebaum.

Florida is going to have Tebow.

We'll see how it all plays out but, until then, without a doubt, UGA has some serious homerisms going-on in their favor.

Replace Homers in your write up with HOMO and it reads really funny.

But didn't Haney go to school at UTK? I mean, we can't *really* claim him, can we?

I get your point, though. The SEC media crews have a lot of school bias based on where they played and who they covered. Hell, we have Lou pumping our tires every weekend on ESPN. What I'm kinda hoping helps tip things in our favor is the fact that we are, by far, the closest school to Charlotte, and our broadcast journalism department churns off-and-on camera talent. There should be a steady pipeline of USC grads and interns flooding that office.
