Last week Holloman was part of a violent collision in the Cowboys pre-season game. Holloman was a potential starter for the Cowboys this year at OLB. However, the collision re-injured his neck that he had hurt the year before.

Doctors recommended to him that he not play anymore or he could risk severe injury to his neck and spine.

While I'm very sad to hear his playing days are over, I'm happy to say that 247 is reporting he's been offered a GA Position with our team and that he's likely going to accept and come back to SC!

Always good having someone that is so "fresh". Dude should still have personal inroads and connections in the program so maybe that'll be worth something.

Damn, sad to hear. One of my favorite players from our recent squads.

Health comes first though, and I'm glad to see he'll be contributing back to the program. He has a wealth of knowledge to offer our young guys. He and Shaq could help Coach Sands and make a world of difference, especially with this talented group we have at LB now.

Sands is the RB coach. Botkin is the LB coach, I think.

Still, I'm saddened for Holloman, but this is best for his long-term health.

I was afraid of this when I heard about his injury and heard it compared to Sterling Sharpe's.

I'm glad he is coming home. He'll make a great GA.

He's accepted Coach Ward's offer and he could be on campus to help out as early as this week! He'll get a grad degree out of this and some collegiate coaching experience. Our team is going to get a NFL level player to come back and coach who's connected with HS football in SC, in particular one of the best areas of the state for HS football. This is a huge win-win situation for everybody.

I'm really proud of our program to be in the position to be able to immediately respond to one of our past players tragic circumstances. This really puts us in a good light and is going to go a long ways.
