Put this here since he's not really a prospect, but a graduate transfer. Rice's JT Ibe has announced he will transfer to USC and play his final year of eligibility with us next season.
Jon-Timothy Chukwuka Ibe, a safety, totaled 121 career tackles in 33 games, with 5 TFL and 8 pass defends. He will add experienced depth to the secondary for Coach Muschamp's defense next season....

We need depth back there. Glad we got him ... guess we burned a scholly doing it. Hope he contributes in a big way.

We burnt a scholly that was going to go to waste otherwise and he will be here a year. Now we have to hope Bryce Thompson qualifies

Yeah I think I alluded to this earlier, a few weeks ago, about we were going to lose and OLineman and DLineman during the Spring. I can go-ahead and say now I've been told they are going to try to stick it out with the DLineman and give him a chance to finally produce. Apparently they've decided we need bodies on the DLine so keeping him around is worth it ... but he really needs to step up his effort.

There is apparently one more OL that is going to be leaving as well. Not announced yet but my money's on Pellage.
For bonus points I'm betting on the DL that is now not leaving as Griffin Gentry as I have literally heard nothing on the guy since signing.

I haven't heard anything about it but it makes sense given they wanted to get down to a certain number before this next early enrollee class in December. They are sticking strictly to unit quotas for each position - trying to balance things on the four year plan ... so with this past class and landing Wonnum late it makes sense for them to dump another OLineman and make room for another DLineman as an early enrollee.
I keep hearing we're after another big time JuCo DLineman with four to play three but it doesn't jive because it woukd seem like maybe a prep school prospect rather than a JuCo prospect ... but who knows.
This next class is going to be heavy on LBs and DLineman though, I do know that.

If I'm not mistaken, Kinlaw got into Columbia with 4 to play 3.

I don't think it's pellage as boom is good friends with his family

I haven't heard a peep about us losing another OLineman but I do know that the one position Boom doesn't frick around with in the least is the OLine. That was part of the deal he made with The Wolf. So, given how much that has been stressed I kinda doubt having a relationship with the family will make much of a difference is he is not cutting-it, the player.
From what I understand it all goes back to Florida and Boom promising himself that he will never again get in a mess along the OLine like he did at Florida. When he hired Wolford he told Wolford the OLine was his baby 100% and that, while mUSChamp has final approval on everything, Wolf would get full autonomy when it came to his OLine.

One thing that I caught from one of the recent 247 podcasts is the recurrence of Evan Hinson's name being brought up. Both completely voluntarily and when asked about the TE position, the name that has come up more than anyone's is Hinson's. This is leading some of the 247 guys to believe Hinson's role in this offense may be more significant than many are realizing.

Ob that is definitely happening ... but he's been in the dog house because Boom didn't want him playing basketball.
Heard he's past that now and working hard to get ready for fall workouts. Coaches believe he could be All-SEC because he is probably the most athletic guy on the team ... but he misses a lot playing basketball.

Gipson will be a safety and a good one imo

I think you're probably right Mike, but T-Rob says he is going to get plenty of work at corner this summer so I just couldn't tell and decided to keep him TBD.
They'd love it if they can make a big time P5 CB out of him because he has the size they covet for a corner at 6-0 ... and I hear he is already up to 190 so he's gained ten pounds since he signed.
But does he have the hips?
I'm leaning towards Safety too because, regardless what T-Rob says about him being a corner, when Muschamp calls him a baller, big time hitter and ball hawk who is going to get a shot returning punts ... that leads me to believe Muschamp already has him slated to be a Safety.

His hips are a but stiff moving to the outside imo...and at 6' hed be a boundary guy. I drafted him in the Recruit Mock Draf we do on the rant this year as a safety

I'm almost positive we crooted him as a safety did we not
