If the HBC didn't put Shaw in for his first college snap down 8 in the 4th Quarter at Auburn in 2010, he'd have another year of eligibility. At the time, I thought HBC was mad at Garcia for fumbling, but I think it came out that he had a concussion.

Crazy to think about....

Didn't Shaw play in the season opener against Southern Miss in 2010? I seem to recall him throwing a TD in that game. Might be wrong though...

Yes he did. Shaw burned his RS game 1 and played in other parts of the year. He was our only backup with the transfers of Smelley and Beecher.

Shaw had to play in 2010. I have thought about it many times, but he was literally all we had behind Garcia, so Spurrier had to get him a few game reps in the event that something would have happened to SG. Would have been awesome to RS him, but I think that Dylan Thompson will surprise some folks next year for us.

Sure are going to miss Connor though... what a player.

Ah, I didn't remember him playing against SM. I thought Auburn was his first action.

I saw that he threw 33 passes, seems like Smelley or Beecher or Clifford or someone could have been a backup.

Ughhh, I feel a little better than we didn't burn it in the 4th at Auburn.

Smelley and Beecher were gone.

And since the Auburn game was the 4th of the season Shaw could have gotten "injured" and still got his redshirt, but like others said he was all we had behind Garcia.

Plus he looked damn good against Auburn. The frustrating part to me was that he didn't get more playing time in 2010 and Spurrier didn't stick with him, or give him another shot soon enough in 2011.
