Did he leave school? Listen, I'm not saying this is the right thing to do, and I don't know much about Belk's history, but if someone was giving me a full scholarship and I could get a degree without dropping cash and I was half-assing football--seems like a pretty good deal to me. I would ride it out until they kicked my off the team.

Do we have 1 year renewable or 4 year scholarships?

I find it odd how succinct Muschamp's response to this was...and that he did not mention any sort of injury as a reason for him quitting.

We have 4 year scholarships.

Fwiw, when he left clempson my friend that works in the athletic department at USC told me the reasons Belk left the tators and one of the reasons was he was having a hard time fitting in with the team and had issues with his roommate. Now we hear rumor that he was having issues fitting in here. Imo, there is more to this then a injury. It sounds like a mental illness issue. BPD?

so had he stayed here we can't release him from the scholarship? Unless he transfers or gets arrested?
or could they get rid of him because he wasn't performing up to par

I'm sure they could have ran him off someway but technically he could have sucked and stayed on scholarship all 4 years.

When there was any tape or pics released that he was in, he always seemed to by by himself as if he isolated himself from everyone.

Seriously hope he gets help, especially if it is related to mental health. Seems if it was related to MH, quitting the team and school could be the worst thing in the world he could have done. Then he has regrets about never achieving his dreams of being in the NFL, is isolated from everyone, has a sick mother with lots of medical bills mounting from being sick..a lot of big time issues for a young man his age to deal with. Not including issues we don't even know about. I just really, really hope he gets help if this is the case.

Imo, he loved the attention recruiting gave him. It made him feel special and one reason he quickly committed to clempson was because of the show they sold him and made him feel he was the shite. Not long after moving in at clempson he started to try and transfer and I think its because he became a regular Joe. I know, from my source, that he and XT and the other freshman superstars did not mesh well and he accused them of " picking on him" so then he gets the transfer and is all of a sudden the " man in the news" again. Gets to Carolina, becomes regular Joe again, and decides to quit WHICH again puts him back in the headlines. When this passes I would not be shocked to see him try to go to another school. He wants the glory without earning it, all imo.

Maybe you can talk your boss into a 4 year contract. Even if you suck you still get paid, as long as no one finds you dressed in blackface from a 3rd grade class play picture.

maybe that wasn't really his dream?

he was just told it because he was given the ability and size.

Belk is also from a small town and on the field there weren't other guys that could challange him. Once he wasn't the " big fish" anymore he didn't know how to compete so in his mind going somewhere else was the answer but he found the same down here.
His coming here, after going through clempson spring practices, so out of weight told me he was soft and didn't have that killer mentality. Wish him the best but it's obvious that a gladiator sport is not his cup if tea. As far as a truck driver he would be by himmself and not have to deal with humans much. Kinda sounds like he may have anti social personality.

Look at the new football opps unveiling video. It shows the guys hanging out together pointing out things but shows Belk , at the end, walking by himmself without any other teammates near him.

Anybody know who his roommate was? I'm sure they'd have hella insight on what's up with him as far as isolating himself from everyone.

The kid from rock hill, Kendrick the freshman wr, was his roommate and " supposedly " Belk didn't get along with him because the kid liked smoking pot in the dormroom.

Him going to clempson, out of the blue, then quick transfer here and returning to clempson to watch a game and then quitting here screams of trying desperately to fit in somewhere.
I bet if you talk to any of his fellow high school peers you would find out he was probably a very aloof kid.

Man whoever is the serial downvoter in a thread discussing a serious subject like mental health can suck Rosie O'Donnell's strap on.

That shite is petty as frick.

You're talking about someone that downvoted me being against men that hit women . I can tell you from a personal perspective that mental health issues are not a laughing matter.

If Belk is having the issues I think he is then I hate it for him. His running from the issues in hopes of something better will leave him running all his life.

Maybe he doesn't have the passion to do what is necessary to play college football or maybe he does has emotional issues. Quit clemsun despite reports of him doing well in spring ball. Several different reasons surfaced. One was that he wasn't happy there and the other was that his mother was sick and he wanted to be closer to home. After he committed to us, he took a visit to Tennessee so that blew the option of determined to stay closer to home. He chose to go to a clemsun game on a weekend that his team mates at South Carolina were playing. That blows the wasn't happy there. Apparently, he has quit here before and was talked into coming back. I sense a pattern. Quitting because you aren't happy and can't get along with others. Secondly making excuses such as sick mother and now injured back. I wish him well and hope he seeks help if there are emotional issues. Otherwise I hope he finds happiness. If that's driving a truck, good for him.
