Just a reminder that DJ Smith, 4 star DB 7th best CB in the country according to Rivals, 12th according to 247, will be announcing tonight at 10pm on FSS. Down to South Carolina and Tennessee (he's pretty much a USC lock but we shall see)

From a Florida site on Damian Prince: "There is a growing confidence surrounding five-star offensive tackle Damian Prince, who will visit Gainesville later this month. South Carolina is the team that has positioned themselves the best in recent weeks and he will see the Gamecocks this coming weekend. However, the late addition of Jalen Tabor, who is also from the Washington D.C. area, like Prince, is something UF feels will help them in the recruitment of Prince."

He'll push our team ranking up to 21 from 29 on the 247 Comp. He's a big time CB recruit, probably the highest ranked we've had since Gilmore and Culliver.

According to Wesley Green, Ole Miss is tied with USC at the top for him...when the hell did Ole Miss come into the picture ($$$$$$$$$$ still shady how they got some players last year). UGA is now 3rd for Green. Also on the downside, Key listed Ole Miss in his Final 5 so that is alive and well... Still like our chances though with this big weekend coming up

DJ Smith highlights, he can play a lot of positions, he's just a really good FB player. He's explosive on his first step, good change of direction and body control. Also, his brain isn't wired to get outside the hash with the ball in his hands. He'll go where ever there is an opening. Good arm length, helps him wrap up a lot of people, also tackles through the target/completes tackles, he's been coached well.

Do you see him moving to safety eventually?
I know a lot of recruiting people think he'll make a better safety than corner in the long run.

IDK, I think it will all depend on who else we have where. If we recruit 4 more great CB's Total in this and the next class, I would think he'd train more at S.

I was just checking ESPN, they had DJ Smith ranked really high, #88 Overall for this class.

Whatever it takes haha. I think this guy gets bathed in fire come fall practice. He, Green, and Lammons (if they all commit) will be battling fiercely for PT.

Is Lammons coming this weekend or the 24th? The ESPN article above states the 24th, but they are not very reliable. 247 said he had changed to the 17th.

I read the same thing as you on 247, that said he was coming on the 17th. So I would go with that over ESPN. It's crazy, ESPN is SUPER rich, the moment they decided they wanted to be #1 in recruiting coverage they could do it in a matter of months.
