If I'm not mistaken, I saw that Kamara tweeted yesterday that he was canceling his OV to South Carolina

Also, I see we offered Tyshun Samuel yesterday, a 5'11" speed WR out of Inman, SC (runs a 4.3 40)

Wonder if it will come down to which will commit first between him and Green or if we try to shoehorn in both if Smith commits and Green wants to later? I know the appeal of getting the package of Green and Key is pretty heavy, but I think I'd just take Smith and call it a day instead of pursuing someone who's been dragging us around by the nose...

BOTH Green and Smith are Takes at this point. I can't stress enough how razor thin we are at CB next year, we are losing both starters and only have 1 proven backup with quality reps (Ahmad Christian.)

Besides Christian:
Rico McWIlliams (RS FR awesome attitude, but had 2 ACL's)
Ali Groves (RS FR)
Ronnie Martin (JUCO Sr)
That's it. Our 2 Deep next year is COMPLETELY wide open.

In comparison with UGA for next year:
Shaq Wiggins (Soph Starter)
Reggie Wilkerson (Soph 2 Deep)
Damian Swann (Sr Starter)
Brandan Langely (Soph Starter/2 Deep)
Jesse Jones (RS Jr)
Sheldon Dawson (Jr, 2 Deep)
Devin Bowman (RS JR)
Jon Bailey (RS Sr)

Then add in the guys they have committed this year:
Malkom Parrish **** #9 CB
Shattle Fenteng *** #3 JUCO CB

This shouldn't be a difficult decision for Wes, just look at the rosters/depth chart, and look at the relationship he already had with the coaches in the first place that led to his initial commitment. We are simply and logically a better fit for him and his career. Plus, we put more DB's in the NFL than UGA does.

Right, but we already have the commitment of a CB in Harris to go with whoever else we sign. Then there's Jabari Smith who could see limited to no time on the offensive side of the ball and has already been moved over once.

Harris is really young for his class though. I don't think he turns 18 until the middle of the football season so he could use a redshirt

There's an article on TBS about the Punter that just decommited from Texas. I desperately hope we don't waste another scholarship on a P/K. Even being a highly recruited one, we don't have the scholarships to use for such a risky position... Learn from our past mistakes!!

Smalls will be a safety and Harris a CB, but Harris tore his ACL this season and he was already undersized for the SEC. He needs a year to regain his leg and build muscle in a D1 program. Harris will have access to the best treatment and training in the off season though, his dad is the DB Coach for the KC Chiefs.

I can understand the reason for your thinking that. However, we have to do something. We're dead last in the SEC, were 107th nationally in Net Punting, and it's not b/c the guys are returning us, it's b/c the guy who kicked the ball this year was not a legit D1 Punter. Hull will be a Sr next year and 4 or 5 years removed from HS, he's not getting any better. It's time to cut him loose and see who else is out there.

Punting is crucial to our game, b/c we haven't had an offense that could score every drive since Spurrier has been here. We have to get someone in here who can help maintain field position, b/c the current guys we have can't. :timetopuntHull:

Granted, but given our limitations for this class would you really offer a punter a scholarship?

I forgot about Harris' ACL, honestly. But I still think it would be a stretch to take both. Unless you are only going to take one of Sawyer/Wideman. I guess that could free up some cap space. I just don't like the idea of taking 20+ kids this session. With the numbers (Yes, yea, always work themselves out...) we would have to make some cuts elsewhere to fit them all in. I know we have a plethora of WR that don't seem to be making the turn necessary to get on the field for meaningful snaps offensively. Maybe we should look at cross training some of them or moving them outright to the defensive side of the ball as well.

But... that's why I make these decisions on the internets and others do it for a living.

WR Tyshun Samuel #25 player in SC, is about to announce a commitment to USC any moment now.

3 Star play, mostly ACC offers, I don't know what the staff is thinking, but there must be a reason.

Here are his Sr Year Stats

It's a solid pick-up by USC. Samuel is a speedy slot-type receiver in the mold of a Sanders or Ellington, who has offers from Vanderbilt, UNC, NC State, MD, ECU as well as USC. He had a question of grades for some reason (in spite of the Vandy offer), and programs held off from offering him. He recently got a passing test score, so we offered him...

"Deebo" Samuel is a burner with 4.3 40 speed who had 1200+ receiving yds as a Jr. and 18 receiving tds. He's played all over the field for Chapman High his senior season, but still had 61 catches for 1,184 yds and scored a total of 30 tds through the air and on the ground. Against Daniel in their postseason game loss that ended the season for Chapman this past Friday, Samuel reportedly had 9 receptions for 257 yards and scored 4 tds. He also excelled as a DB for Chapman...

The "insiders" are calling Deebo another sleeper diamond like Pharoh was last class, and say he's a better version of Braxton Berrios....
