Late rally by Albany fails in game 2. USC wins 6-4, sweeps, and goes to 5-1.

Gamecocks win 5-2 over Furman.

Freshman L-P Jack Wynkoop, gets his 1st W. Webb closed giving up 1 Hit and forcing 2 SO's in just 1 inning pitched.

Shutout! J Montgomery for 8 innings, then Webb strikes out the side to close it down, 6-0.

Now that was a great game. Mont and Webb were outstanding, striking out 12 batters, only walking 2 and giving up 3 hits and 0 runs. clemson was totally outmatched at their own field. They pitched ok, but had too many errors. That Kennedy kid is going to remember dropping that easy fly ball for a while, that's what really blew the game wide open for the Gamecocks.

We've now won 5 of the past 6 and 19 of the past 26 games against that other team from the upstate.

I'm becoming more and more confident in our pitching staff for this season...now we need to see how Colby does tomorrow. Clemson seems to struggle in recent seasons versus left-handed pitchers more than right-handed. But Colby is far the most seasoned veteran of the staff, IMO...

Tyler looked every bit as dominating against Clemson as Matt Price ever looked.....

Me too. Mont was completely dominant from the very start of the game last night.

It was awesome how Webb came in and struck out the side to end the game. Very reminiscent of Price.

Can't wait for the game today, bout to crack open a beer soon.

Too little too late. Westmoreland should be starting instead of Holmes. I was happy to see we finally started getting some hits near the end of the game, and the 2 consecutive HR's is always fun to watch.

Our defense didn't look on point and I saw several plays to the outfield where I felt like the guy could've made the catch but didn't.

Rubber game tomorrow. GO GAMECOCKS!

They killed us on the 2 out RBIs. I'm pretty sure most of their runs came from that.

Gotta bounce back tomorrow. Go Cocks!!

That was the best game from Belcher that I can remember. 0 runs, 0 walks, 7 strikouts, 9 IP, 3 hits, and ended the game with the strikeout.

I bet Taternet is on full meltdown with the [Fire Legget, out team sucks, I hate the Coots" threads.
