Well after a nice Clemson week, Men & Women are both back on the court this week. Women tomorrow night at 7 on Fox Sports South.

It's so random how they decide which women's games to televise. They have this game against a nobody on but when we play UNC in Myrtle Beach, nothing. I would really like to see that game.

Same, at least a top 20 match up and no TV.

I'm real excited to see Mitchell's elevation as a top scorer and player for USC. The "Super Sophs" of the 2012 class seems to have gotten a bit overlooked with the great addition of the 2013 stud Coates, and all the hype about the incoming 2014 class. But that 2012 class is legit, and Mitchell is developing into the star of the class.
I was thinking that both Welch and Coates would be scoring leaders for the Gamecocks, but now Tiffany has catapulted herself past both with a team-leading 15 ppg through 8 games. She's also leading the team with 20 steals (2.5 per gm), and is 2nd to Sessions with 28 assists (3.5 per gm), and also leads the team in 3-pt. FG % with 50% (10 of 20 attempts).
Also check out this early FG % for our top 4 players:
Mitchell (15.0 ppg): .581%
Welch (13.5 ppg): .714% !!!!
Coates (13.3 ppg): .656%
Ibiam (9.9 ppg): .630%
Coach Staley's early teams had big issues with making their shots: even the 25-win teams of the previous 2 seasons they had .390 and .398 FG %s. They now have a .507%, and of course this should drop a bit once the SEC season gets underway, but IMO this team is a much, much better scoring team than previous ones, and Mitchell is looking to lead the way....

Problem is ESPN being attached to Uconn and Duke. SEC has some of the best women's basketball teams but you would never know it because of all the games they do not broadcast.

Wasn't able to watch the game last night but heard it wasn't pretty, one positive I keep hearing about though is how well Jaylen Shaw played again.
Women BB back in action tomorrow afternoon.

And we're final here in Charlotte. #Gamecocks win 76-61. Thx Queen City Gamecocks for coming out and helping us get the W!
Last time this'll be updated for games for a little while. Neither team's back in action until after this week due to finals.

Gamecocks tip off here in a few minutes vs. Manhattan, last game of the year that will not be televised. You can listen on 107.5 The Game here in Cola.
Gamecocks starters vs. Manhattan, at guard, Thornwell, Johnson and Ellington; at forward, Henry and Kacinas

This is so discouraging, I know it's still early in the season, but we look no better than last year. I was hoping for the NIT this year.

Uugh....we still have a long long way to go. Now perhaps that we'll actually be playing games, maybe we can figure out some things we're doing wrong. Playing 2 games in 20+ days may not be the best way to focus. Regardless, we were ugly tonight versus Manhattan...

Wasn't able to watch last night, listened to the first half before I had stuff come up. Heard Manhattan made pretty much every free throw & that we played sloppy way to many turnovers.
Well at least the Women are back in action vs #14 UNC, top 15 matchup that'll be tonight.

I was watching the Ole Miss @ Baylor game because ESPN did not pick up the Cocks @ Heels game. Looks like the Cocks did better in the second half and got close late but they could not recover from the gap in the first half.

Completely forgot the men's game was today, luckily I was surfing channels on radio and came upon it on 107.5 when they were about a few mins in. We look pretty good so far against Upstate.
ETA: As I say that Upstate goes on a 18-4 run to end the half.
