My favorite thing about this is we beat them and finished ahead of them.

Oh but it is true. FWAA and NFF were always second tier. Never held same weight as AP and UPI.

AP and UPI trophies are usually held in high regard and kept in the trophy cases. Sometimes you’ll find NFF and FWAA trophies auctioned off.

Just because a school claims it doesn’t mean it’s recognized on a universal level. A lot of those claims you mentioned happened in later years and not the actual year it was claimed.

AP and UPI are at the dinner table.

FWAA and NFF are always at the kids table.

Yep. Not many teams claim titles from the 50’s on where either an AP or UPI trophy wasn’t won. Doing that is about as low as it gets. OM does this. Arkansas. Anyone else?

Holy shite- outstanding list. Is that comprehensive? Have always wanted to see this but never took the time to tally them up. The schools claiming these after the 50’s and particularly 60’s truly are few in number.

Ole miss is only slightly better than state as far as the all time numbers go, I would not be bragging too much, both are pretty pathetic

Stop what? Like I said from the beginning I was curious how many schools claimed titles from the 50’s on where they didn’t when AP or UPI polls. As you showed, not many. It was actually an interesting post. Not sure what I said to trigger you or why you’re now melting.
