How can you play football in August if you can’t even have an in person meeting in July? Last I read the SEC hasn’t even given the rescheduled date for the virtual Media Days. I think I know why.....they don’t know what to say or do. They are hoping for something close to a miracle that will allow football this year.

No fans or fewer fans in stands? As Mark Stoops said last month, the optics of that look horrible. Your gonna tell adults who are attending games voluntarily that it’s too dangerous for them and the community for fans to sit close together but it’s ok for these players who are somewhat compelled to play (because not playing would mean you’re a p***y) to tackle, scratch, sweat and breathe on each other? How does a football conference explain that in a logical manner?

What happens when a player or numerous players tests positive in season? Does the whole team have to quarantine? Do games with that team get cancelled? How effed up does the season get?

That’s just two issues for which the SEC and other conferences have no answers.

It seems to me, for us to have football, we either need a vaccine or we need to just say “screw it, herd immunity is the answer let’s play ball”.

We’re not getting a vaccine before August so we either have fans in the stands sitting side by side and we have players getting the virus and simply not playing like any other illness, or, I don’t see how these conferences can explain how it is logical to start football practice in August when they can’t even attend a meeting in July.

Yeah no clue about Media Days, doubt they could have had it in Atlanta anyway since the venue was destroyed. It was supposed to be the 13th-16, no new dates given.
