I’m just catching up on things as I had a family function all last night. First off, Well wishes to Franks and his path to getting healthy again.
Can someone tell me what to expect going forward with the offense? Do you anticipate it changing any in terms of philosophy? Can you give a little insight on what to expect with the new starter?
Thanks.

Nothing changes. Physically, Trask is similar to Franks. Big, strong, and can run. Doesn’t have Feleipe’s arm but he can definitely zip it.
He’s a redshirt junior who has been in the program a long time. Was originally recruited by Nussmeier and McElwain as a project, likely in case Franks never hit his upside or otherwise didn’t pan out.
Can’t take too much away from the UK game. Their secondary was depleted going in and it only got worse as the game went on. Like Franks, Trask has really good and proven skill players around him and a line that can protect but might be the worst run blocking line in the SEC so far. We have no run game and if that doesn’t improve somehow, it will bite us sooner than later.

It was like the Hurts situation in the SEC championship. Having a fresh guy come into the game provided a spark to their offense. Whether he actually is better than Franks or not remains to be seen

Neck and neck with Franks for the starting job a couple years ago before he broke his foot in practice.
