I wish I could be this optimistic. I think Big Germ can coach these guys up and might even toughen up the leftover Lyle slaw, but I'm just not sure we are at 9-3 level yet.

I expect a 6-6 finish for VOLS, 7-5 at best.

8-4
Think we finally beat Muschamp this season and beat State at home.
@Mizzou will be a tough game. Hopefully they're tired of getting their asses kicked by them.

I just want the Human Skoal Can to make sure our boys have that fahr in their bellies and still hoping he irl punches a human being on the sideline.
Most of all, I want VOLS to be good again I just don't see it with this roster--should be improved though. If only the D Line had ANY talent...

Care to give a short breakdown on why you think UT beats UGA? I just don’t see it this year. Next year seems to be the year to challenge for the East but I see UT losing to UGA, Bama, and UF this year.

Yeah, I just thought maybe on this board he would have an actual discussion.
My bad.

I dont think we'll win but...
I think this game will be closer than some think because it seems like even when UGA marches in with much stronger team and we don't it tends to be closer than expected. For example all of the games from 2010-2016 were a one possession game. +the 2017 beatdown was an exception. In last years game, a it was 24-12 in the 4th quarter. Obviously that's not what the final score indicated but there's a little bit there to build on
The biggest issue for UGA will be pressure on the QB. I know we will stack the box, go ears pinned back and try and take advantage of your "weak" WR corp early in the season. You do have one of the best O-lines in the country as well as some great RBs but I trust Pruitt's defensive scheme to get pressure. I think the gameplan will be to shut down the run and make Fromm win the game. He is entirely capable of doing so, so it will take a great showing from the defensive backfield to have a chance. We do have some talent and experience in the secondary this year so that will help. If we can get some 3rd down pass breakups and 1-2 picks then that will be enormous for our chances.
Our biggest issue will be depth on the lines. We are paper thin on DL and although we have a lot of bodies and talent on the O-line we lack experience. We have to lock down our spots and start forming a cohesive line in the first few games if we are to have a chance here. We will need our offense to stay on the field as long as possible to keep our D fresh and prevent you from establishing a rhythm. We have the WR corp to make some downfield plays and jump balls (see Auburn last year), and we have a good stable of solid backs. We will need to be creative with some timely screen plays, draws, occasional deep shot etc.
Our Secondary and LBs, as well as our skill positions on offense are very solid. This game will come down to the classic fundamental question: Can our O-line block for them, and can our D-line last 60 minutes and procide consistent pressure against a great blocking line? We will have to play great to beat you and certainly catch some lucky breaks but nothing is impossible.

True, it's a rivalry game and it's generally close no matter the rankings. I'll definitely give Pruitt credit as a defensive guru. I'm sure he'll have something dialed up with some run blitz's. If we can keep the chains moving and wear down your DL we might be able to pull away late in the 3rd again. If not it will be close until the end.
Conversely, our DL is the weak point on defense. If you guys can wear them down and keep your defense fresh it should be a great game.

Big Game Jeremy personally circled the Auburn game last summer and it showed as the VOLS upset Auburn on the plains.
Rumor has it that Big Game Jeremy has circled the UGA this year. I expect a similar result for the VOLS.
Big Jim has come home and he's finna eat bigly.
This will be a very close game. It's at Neyland. VOLS will not be intimidated by UGA.
