There was an article this morning on changes that need to be made on the offensive side of the ball in the offseason. In the article, it claimed that our play calling and overall predictability had a lot to do with our downfall on that side of the ball. It said that with having as much youth out there, Roper was wanting to keep things as simple as possible for everyone which makes sense. However, because of this they estimated as many as 20 snaps per game, the opposing team especially Clemson knew not only exactly what play we would run but also how we would indicate when to snap the ball.
This is an extremely serious issue. We can get all the talent in the world, if we go up against coordinators like Venables etc who can get an edge like that, we are going to get cornholed.

As OL improves and young players develop the complexity we can use on offense will increase. It's about football IQ and right now our team is a little short on that.
Roper should be able to open up the offense as our young team ages. I think if you see this same playcalling in 2 seasons, then it's time to sound the alarm.

Thanks GC88 ... I think I found it. Found a Travis Haney article about Tennessee while I was looking for it.

Love what you did with it too. Viles will be cannabalizing themselves on that thread for at least 6 pages.

I wonder who passed that info to Tony lol. Not saying it's wrong but it leads me to believe Elliot's trying to put the heat on roper for a while which means the locker room might not be unified

Which would in turn make me hate Elliot even more.

Dollars to donuts it was Elliott who leaked that info.
Muschamp has an issue on his hands. Let's see how he chooses to address it.

Folks on the board over there are calling for Bobby Bentley OC. I'm definitely for him having more input than I think he is being able to have at the moment. As JC Shurburtt said in the comments of a thread "The thing is Bentley will be an OC somewhere sooner rather than later." He wasn't implying that he should necessarily replace Roper next season, just quelling the belief that Muschamp shouldn't take a risk on an unproven guy.
Another post he made to prove kind of the same point, aka a proven guy isn't always the answer/the best answer was to point towards our in state douchelords. Chad Morris was a High School coach, then spent one year as OC for Tulsa before being hired there. They were in the top ten in the country for scoring offense 2 of his four years and never fell below 30 ppg. The right guy doesn't have to be a proven guy was his point.

I think Gus Malazan might have been Mitch Mustain's HC in HS before being hired by Nutt as a QB coach then OC ... then OC under Chiz then HC at Ark St then back to Auburn ... whew, I hope I'm remembering that correctly.
Bobby entley will be an OC. But Roper is doing fine right now and Bobby Bentley is not going anywhere.
And yes, the general consensus is that Elliott intentionally fed that info to Tony ... something might very well come of it. Elliott may have stepped over the line this time with his bravo sierra. As soon as mUSChamp is questioned about it the shite will hit the fan.

If that is indeed true, and I don't see any other way that info could have been leaked to Tony, Elliott def crossed the line and played his political card out. If Muschamp has any testicular fortitude, he'll assert his dominance as alpha wolf in the locker room and can Elliott just for that. If we lose a recruit or two, I would say fine because this kind of cancer in the locker room is terminal.
