Not saying that but taking lumps adds up when at least 3 teams in the conference will have more talent than you on a yearly basis and another 5 will have equal or slightly less. Greatest advantage that OU has is that you could outgun every team you played if you had a bad game. Even if you kept Riley it would be a challenge to sniff 10 wins on a yearly basis in the SEC.

This hire will be crucial for OU's future. It HAS to be right or things will get ugly quickly and it will be much harder to get back off the mat.

I don’t disagree at all. If this hire gets botched, it’s going to take many, many years for OU to recover. Oklahoma MUST find somebody that knows SEC ball and isn’t afraid of the competition. In the end, I think this will help OU in the long run. Riley’s teams don’t play the way you have to play week in and week out in this conference. We will see who gets hired and what culture can be established. But make no mistake, they must get this right
