I seriously doubt he's coming to Florida. He's not a favorite with the admin or Bull Gators.

If the Miami job opens, that could be a problem. I've heard Miami's boosters are a little leery about paying another buyout and getting into a bidding war though.

I do have to agree with the contingent who says the fans here are a bit soft. Who doesn't go to an SEC game when tickets are that cheap even when it's Vandy? I paid $5 for mine on the 50-yard-line.

Not to call anyone out, but is the view here that all of folks in Tiger Stadium, BDS, or The Swamp live in town? Tons of folks in The Swamp are coming in from Orlando, Tampa, Jax, and surrounding areas and dealing with getting home at 2 a.m. Running the table at home is always special, and here pretty rare.

I don't know, but Ole Miss rarely if ever seems a particularly intimidating place to play, and some of the criticism folks like Pank are throwing out isn't unwarranted. Cool, so it was really loud that one time against Alabama, but even places like Arky and SCar tend to be much louder environments week to week.

I enjoy going to games here, a lot more than The Grove actually, and have really enjoyed Kiffin being here. It would be fun to actually see Vaught as nuts as it supposedly was for that Bama game for once though.

Just to play devil's advocate, Baton Rouge, Tuscaloosa, and Gainesville are in much more populated areas than Oxford and the same attendance issues that have been affecting us have been affecting those three powerhouses as well. As to the population difference, consider this: East Baton Rouge Parish has 440,000 people; Tuscaloosa County has 203,000 people; Alachua County has 269,000 people; and Lafayette County has 55,000 people. As to the attendance, consider Florida put just 70,000 butts in the seats two weeks ago and, although LSU claims 92,000 attended the UL-Monroe game, anyone with a set of eyes who watched that game knows that claim is simply false.

All the empty areas in our stadium doe look bad on TV, though.

The problem is our stadium is too big and the cost of attending a game worth attending has priced out the average consumer. Our stadium needs to seat 50,000. The days of mega stadiums are dead, even in college football, which might be dying too.

It has much more to do with the slate of games this year than anything. Austin Peay, Tulane in a torrential downpour, Arkansas at 11 am, LSU, A&M, Liberty, and Vandy in 30 degree weather.. 4 cupcakes and Arkansas at 11 when everyone has had issues with attendance.

I'm lucky enough to live here and went to every game except Tulane (didn't wait out the rain) and Liberty (went to a wedding). But when talking with friends, I couldn't ever get a lot of them to come because if they needed a hotel, it was exorbitantly expensive. It ain't worth it to see most of those games. The ones that it was worth it, we showed up.
