According to today's AP Top 25, UGA has only played one top25 opponent all year - #21 Arkansas

Sure during the season we played lots of ranked teams and 3 of them were in the top ten when we played the game.

Don't expect any of that to matter.

Auburn - not in the top 25
Florida - not in the top 25
Kentucky - not in the top 25
Tennessee - not in the top 25
Clemson - not in the top 25

USC/Vandy/Tech - not gonna finish in the top 25.

So, are we really guaranteed a mulligan if we lose the SECCG? Only having 1 top 25 win on the schedule?

Discuss.

Also of note- when was the last time the SEC East only had 1 team in the top25?

Has that ever happened?

The SEC as a whole only has 5 teams in the top25, which also seems low.

We need to win the SEC

a loss could knock us out unless there is some chaos and mostly 2 loss conference champs

I think we’d get in over a 1 loss wake and probably an undefeated Cindy, but it’s not a given

When you listen to the conversation around the sport, from national pundit to regional talking heads to everyone, the theme for 2021 seems to be "parity". And debating what factors are causing it from transfer portal, to covid super seniors, etc etc. But, each one of these people almost always begins their take on the situation with the following exact quote......

"Except for Georgia, who is far and away the only well-rounded team, head and shoulders above everyone else, the rest of college football is not separating themselves blah blah blah"

I mean every single one of them says this. There is no debate out there about us. The only debate in media was about QB, but Stet shut those motherfrickers up for good yesterday. We honestly could not be in a better spot playoff-wise

A one-loss SEC runner-up UGA is not being left out of the playoff.

End of discussion.

Some of you guys are overthinking this.

I would agree with you if our schedule was riddled with ranked teams we'd beat the shite out of.

The number beside the other teams name matters WHEN THE GAME IS BEING PLAYED. They were top ten matchups. Big emotional driven games with a shite load on the line. Lots of pressure. Can’t help that the SEC has eaten itself alive this year. This is what used to happen back in the day when Michigan and USC and Nebraska controlled college football. The SEC cannibalized itself every week. It wasn’t that we sucked as a conference it was that there was so much parity. Don’t get me wrong florida and Clemson suck but the rest of our ranked wins don’t.

I think the better argument would be "sure those teams aren't ranked today, but UGA did to them exactly what they were supposed to do to them. And don't forget, were it not for their UGA loss, some of those teams would probably be ranked today".

The number 1 seed chooses which location they want to play in right? Miami or Dallas?

Wouldn't Kirby choose Miami if we are #1 seed? Just to make travel time zones etc easier. Which would mean if we somehow came up short against Alabama in Atlanta, they'd have Alabama at #1 and keep us at 2 or 3 to avoid an immediate rematch. So, we'd be off to Dallas.

High cotton, sons. This is crazy.

Would playing outdoors in Miami with potential for tropical monsoon rains vs a covered warehouse stadium in Dallas factor into the decision?

Stays pretty warm down there even at the end of December. Would be a good place to take some yankee team like Ohio state into some heat and humidity

The Allstate Playoff Predictor means nothing to me.

It helps that Georgia has basically destroyed everyone. Eye test is hugely in our favor.

It’s also relatively likely that the other contenders take a couple Ls over the next few weeks to thin the herd a little bit.

We aren’t losing to Bama again. This is all a moot point.

SECCG would be a good time to get the Bama monkey off our back and knock out the next most talented competitor in one shot.

Was so excited to beat Clemson 10-3. Didn't give a shite about the score because I hought we'd just beat Godzilla

Crazy that that one score is now the lone "blemish" on our record
