Based on the info I’m reading here (huge disclaimer), if the investigators don’t have one or more of the following, I don’t see any way to have a prosecutable Rape case.
1) evidence of a “date rape drug” being slipped by Adam
2) an incriminating statement or electronic communication made by Adam after the fact
3) verifiable prior criminal sexual assault(s) by Adam

The metoo movement isn't rooted in politics. It's just people talking about sexual assault they have experienced.
What's it like to know that your chances of being sexually assaulted is extremely low? That must be a freeing feeling. I guess that's why there are a lot of cavalier attitudes around it. Not just here, but in general.
