Yeah, I'm assuming he spoke to Ruggs and this was his claim.

He probably has no way of knowing until the tests come back, but I'm sure there is someone at Top Golf checking his tab, videos, etc.

Yeah, by the time Ruggs spoke to his attorney, he very well may not have been intoxicated anymore. It would take quite a while from his last drink, to the wreck, to the cops arriving, to getting arrested, to get processed and booked, etc. He may not have been able to speak to his attorneys for hours after the wreck. And, like you said, his attorney is probably mostly going of what his client is telling him at the moment because that's all he has to go off of right now
