kJ has to be a more willing runner especially on pass plays. 2nd and 12 on the first drive he has 10 yards of open space in front of him and instead tries to squeeze it into a tiny window and almost gets picked.the very next play he has the same space and instead throws it to ketron Jackson 2 yards behind the LOS. The 3rd and 3 the next drive may not have been there as #50 for auburn appeared to have the angle but if he puts his head down it would’ve been close. 1st and 10 on the 3rd offensive possession he has another clear running lane up the middle and elects to throw the ball away.(he also had kern open as the check down in the flats). He finally decides to run later that drive and picks up the 1st on 3rd and 8. Also not sure if the 4th and 1 handoff to rocket was a true read or not but if kJ pulls it he has the first down around the edge easily auburn sold out in the middle. 1st and 10 on the next drive and kJ takes a sack, once again there isn’t a single auburn player on film outside of the 3 man rush so he has plenty of space to scramble. It looked like auburn never had a spy on him the entire 1st half. On the first drive of the 2nd half we get a 3rd and 9 and again auburn doesn’t spy kj this time he takes off and gets a huge gain and a first down helped out by a key block by the official. He scrambled later on in the game on 2nd and 13 and picks up 7 or 8. Then with 2 minutes left in the 3rd 2nd and 9 he misses a slant to tyson morris but had a clear running lane up the middle for at least 5 yards.
In short: He seemed to be more willing to scramble in the 2nd half than in the 1st but still left a few opportunities on the table. if teams are going to play our defense against us and drop 8 kJ’s legs have to be the deciding factor in what keeps the chains moving

I think the game is too quick.
I believe that’s one of Briles system benefits, no thinking. When he fully implements it (you see it in the 2m drill) it’s quick and reacting no thinking. That’s the downside to every Baylor QB that got drafted.
