Archie got more fame off his son than he did from his own career. You couldn't watch a Tennessee game in the 90's without constant shots of Archie in the stands and reminders from the announcers of who Archie was.

If Archie would have gone to any other team other than the Saints in the 70s he could have had hall of fame stats...hell if I am not mistaken, he was the Saints all time leader rusher until the Saints drafted George Rogers in '81...the man was sacked 340 times in his career in New Orleans...

Archie was a helluva lot more mobile and faster than either of his sons.

He didn't have the passing stats but he also didn't have the receivers his sons had.

Archie was incredible in college. The original JFF. He was a better version of Fran Tarkenton. He didn't have a lot of talent around him in either college or the NFL. He would be an absolute superstar in todays game.
