Announcing a lawsuit if settlement isn't reached is a legitimate and perfectly legal PR move. Blackmail involves criminal activity.

Man, real dumb y'all bees. How much market shared does Kmarks sti.haves in Knoxville.

Attorneys have been disbarred and/or charged with extortion for threatening to go public with defaming information if financial demands are not met. Pruitt and his attorney are walking a fine line right now. This is not a perfectly normal PR move

Pruitt didn't say it, the attorney did

Pruitt can fire that attorney and grab another one

It's not defamation if it is true. If there was some clause in his contract saying he can't discuss anything about his employment at TN then he would be in violation of a contract which is wildly different than defamation. He would still have civil legal risk but it would be worse PR and monetary situation for UT because NCAA has power too.
