I think my favorite UT moment was on a trip to Neyland to watch us beat the shite out of the Vols during the Butch Jones years. In the pre-game the band came down to the field and they and the football team formed some kind of circle and did a dance routine of sorts. It was fairly elaborate and it was very obvious that both the band and the team had had to spend some amount of time practicing it beforehand. "This moron," I remember thinking, "has apparently used some of his precious NCAA-limited practice time to have his team work on a coordinated dance routine with the marching band." But then later I found out that Butch Jones didn't play football in college but was a member of the marching band, and it all kind of made sense. And I do have to say, although we did beat the shite out of Tennessee that day, their pre-game dance number was much better than ours.
