So how do you change the culture of a team, where 1-3 players show up for voluntaries? I mean seriously, are the scrubs skipping too?

Well for starters you bring in a new recruiting class and get burnett back and return bediako. Then grab a portal guy or 2 , then keep 2 guys who are committed to working.

Yea anybody wanting Oats fired needs a dose of reality . We are all disappointed with the results of the season but Oats has changed every aspect of our program . It’s ok to be disappointed bc we EXPECT big things out of the program now . Just think, if we hadn’t one the SEC regular season, SECT, and Sweet 16 app in year two of Oats regime , hell we would have killed for this year’s results after sitting through our last two coaches

Don't know butt there probably was a reason the shoot around was voluntary and not mandatory. Cross country travel, fatigue or an extremely tough work out earlier in the day. Rest might have seemed as important as shooting around. Who Knows? I certainly don't but neither do the rest of you whiners.

I’m excited to look forward to next season now.

We will hopefully have a PG that doesn’t turn it over constantly, and someone offensively who we can rely on.

There was something about this team that none of us know about..something in the locker room maybe, I don't know.

But as the season progressed, even the energy on the bench began to fade. Guys not jumping around etc.

This team never played FOR EACH OTHER. There was just no team chemistry imo.

Looks like UAB is about the same as this years team. Cool.

I’m sure they have the same amount of money going to coaches, facilities, and players. Not sure though. :)

Here’s to next year… it is great fun to get into the tournament; just ask other SEC teams and historically good teams like Georgetown, etc.

I think The “Leaders” of this team (JQ,Keon, and Shack) all got complacent after last season and didn’t put in the extra work/effort in (Shack wasn’t even there) and the other guys followed

Agree. I’m afraid it’s worse than this.

I’d love to hear from someone inside the program who could explain the difference…

Either the players were focusing on other things or were straight up not fulfilling their scholarships by laughing, gambling, etc

And/or the coaches had sub-par game plans all year. We might be screwed if this is just a high school scheme after other legendary coaches have questioned it.

One or the other, something else ..

Agree 100% Been thinking all year how much better we’d be if Oats banned laughing.

When Nate Oats first got here we was GRAVEYARD DEAD...since him and his guys took over we actually have a standard to live up too which is great! Players from all over the country wants to play in his system but the problem this year was that he didn't have the right pieces to run it. We need SHOOTERS, DEFENDERS, & EXPERIENCE!

Jaelin Llewellyn, Fardaws Aimaq, & Taylor Funk should get calls from our coaching staff immediately.

This team was very inconsistent but they had a good season breaking new records once again and making the NCAA tournament in back to back seasons! I am grateful for that stat alone because I've been here when we was just a skid mark in the road. I still can't believe we beat Gonzaga, Baylor, & Houston either!

I just want to ask one question to the people complaining....Where were y'all when Anthony Grant & Avery Johnson was coaches at Alabama?

I appreciate our guys but sometimes things don't always fall in place so we will bounce back next year and handle business. Prayers up for JQ!
