Yes, that's the excuse we heard for months after the game and I apologize for striking a nerve, that was not my intention.

OU had key players banged up & not available too.. it's not OU's fault the Gators were extremely thin at WR. That Gator team was 8-3 with some quality wins and coming off a SECCG appearance. THIS Gator team doesn't appear to be in the same league. So why suddenly would Florida be favored to beat either OU or TX right now? At the very least, it's debatable.

They weren't thin per se. Of their top 4 receivers, 3 opted out to prepare for the draft and a fourth tested positive for COVID. No one said it was OU's fault, but when an argument is framed that OU beat a 2nd round draft pick in a bowl game last year, a little context is probably necessary. That was not the same Florida offense that played the rest of that season.

Don't sweat it. No nerve struck. I just didn't know if you knew that hardly any of the offense from Florida 2020 team was on the field a few weeks ago when they played Alabama in 2021 since you said it was "that florida team". (let's face it... not even half of the production was there when they played ou in 2020 either)

And I never said Florida losing all their receiving production was ou's fault. ou got lucky with it so you play with the people you got and they play with who they have. ou got their cute little cotton bowl trophy. You lost me when you really thought Florida put out a competitive offensive team though. Vegas at least noticed without bias. Vegas lines do not shift by 11.5 points just because there are a few minor injuries and opt outs for one team. I do appreciate you trying to compare the two situations though. You get an A for effort.

Like I said, you guys are looking for something a little more substantial than a big 12 championship or cotton bowl to hang your hat on these days so more power to you. Keep up the good fight.
