heard he was upset with Bert that some of his offensive linemen tried to knock on his door but refused to open the door. This was after an argument between the two.

That's like after you decide you're splitting up your marriage, your wife grabbing the kids bringing them over and asking you why you don't love the kids enough to stay together ...

Bert tried to put the blame on Sam and said that he tried to keep him here. I don't know if it had to do with the recruiting visit with an offensive lineman that Bert skipped out on to go to Vegas. But apparently Sam was upset as he explained to this recruit as to why Bert didn't show up and that recruit ended up as a four year starter at an SEC school.

I believe Sam had issues with recruiting as Bert didn't show up at these recruiting visits which could have hurt Sam's reputation. Bert is an obnoxious slob who didn't invest his time in the program unless it was Jim Beam. Sam had enough of his immature bullshite and left.

I thought it was telling when sam listed all the coaches he had worked under and how much he learned but never once mentioned bielema.

Even mentioned previous Arkansas coaches. Still no Bert reference (granted, not like he’s held in the same esteem as a Holtz or Hatfield).

It may sound like 20/20 hindsight, but I always had a bad taste in my mouth for how Bert publicly handled Pittman leaving after the 2015 season. Regardless of how it goes down, you don’t call out a former assistant as he’s walking out the door, especially one as well regarded in coaching circles as Pittman was/is. Just poor taste and potentially turns off other potential assistant coach candidates.

Pretty telling that Bert tried to publicly shame Pittman by acting like he betrayed his players, yet those same former players were the driving force behind Pittman’s candidacy and campaign for our HC job.

It’d be like a colleague telling everyone you’re a shitty boss only to have your own employees lobby for you to get a promotion.
