Well within three feet of the side stripe. You guys need to read the lines on a football field. The Ref is at the back of "No Man's Land" and that ball lands at his feet.
"No Man's Land" is the three foot stripe around the entire field. It is there to prevent collisions between the Officials on the lines and the team on the sidelines.
Last Coach I ran into ....I left my flag in the center of his chest when I got up to chase the play. 6'0" and 220 running full speed looking over my shoulder .....Let's just say a standing still didn't have a chance. He left the game and I had bruises for a week.

Last night Peyton Manning’s commentary during MNF said QBs should always aim to hit 3 or 4 yards from the sideline when throwing 40-50 yard go route bombs. I guess Bo thought he meant 3 yards from the other side of the sideline ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconwah.gif)
