Mullen knows what his program is and knows the types of recruits that fit into that system and style of program. It's why at a place like State where consistency is extremely difficult he almost always had a "good" team, while sometimes having "very good" teams. At Florida, a place where he can do the same thing but with players a step up on the athleticism and talent scale, he will be able (and has been able) to take that baseline consistency up a step.

As always, the deal with Mullen is can he break through against the best of the best teams and take his team to that next step of truly being a national contender. That's really his final step. He's done everything else.
