I agree. He made a big, legal hit to the chest and then they call it for landing on top of the QB? What is the defensive player supposed to do? Is he supposed to stop his momentum mid hit? Seems weak and dumb. This is still football, let the boys play!

On the whole I agree with you, however in that case #2 royally screwed up. The QB had already released the ball and he knows that if you continue the tackle and then drive the guy into the turf , it is going to be a penalty. Especially after he has released the ball. Then to compound it he taunts the QB after the play.
So it was the right call. Defensive players need to know when to finish a tackle and when to release the player. They already know that the officials are going to protect the QB’s.
It was very costly for Nebraska.
I think they are by far the best team on the field but mistakes will equalize the unbalance in talent every time.
