Look, a lot of people have egg on their face by how they interpreted his original answer to a question, but Coach Harsin could have answered the question a lot differently at media days to reflect on what he shared in the link.
I’m sure he learned from this and most likely thought it wasn’t anyone’s business at the time but I’m sure will answer questions differently in the future.
Glad he cleared it up and did a good job in the link.

His answer at the time to me seemed fine, but after listening to the link I feel he could have been a little more forthcoming with how Auburn football was dealing with it as he had in the link. If anyone throws shade over his current response, they can go pound sand.

Harsin will be no stranger to controversy. Might as well embrace or brace for it. He said something today about initially questioning Wooten’s leadership because he took last year off. That’s what I read on Twitter anyway.

He actually talked about when they first met he didn’t know Wooten and wondered, because he sat out, if he was truly committed to playing ball (a perfectly reasonable doubt for a coach who doesn’t know) but to his credit Wooten told him he could be a leader and Harsin took him at his word and he has become very close to Chandler as a result. Says he has a ton of respect for him, actually.

He didn't go political but, while not forcing anything, he's obviously pro-vaccine. He stated that several times.

That was 10 minutes of weak leadership. He danced and dodged...he clearly is anti-vaccine. If he wasn't he'd say the medical doctors who we've paid to show up have told us to get vaccinated and I will take the vaccine and encourage our players to listen to the medical professionals.
Specific to weak leadership and football...I disagree with his vaccine opinions, but I'm disappointed that he won't own those opinions. I'd prefer he'd say I'm not taking the vaccine and I'm proof because I had a bad sinus infection and now I'm fine...I don't care if it killed your grandma or immunocompromised 2nd cousin.
The reason our rivals have such high vaccination rates is the players respect the coaches and the coaches simply showed them the competitive advantage of getting vaccinated next to the relatively little to no risk it posed to them as a person.
The 3 lowest vaccination rates in the country are:
1. Conservative white males under 50
2. Conservative white females under 40
3. Black males under 30
But somehow our biggest rivals convinced their teams made up largely of 1 and 3 to get vaccinated...#weakleadership
