Why?

Let them water down their league.

Bigger is not better.

Adding Texas and Oklahoma made sense. It made the league stronger. Outside of Notre Dame, I can't think of another athletic program that would add to what we already have.

Because there's an imbalance.
Maybe if the Big 10 can keep it at 18, and the SEC with to be 16, then it won't be inevitable.
But, if they go to 20, the SEC will have to react.
I'd hate it, but you can't have 20, or more, in one conference, and only 16 in the other power conference.

Notre Dame and UNC would be good additions to the SEC.
