With an 8 game conference schedule you go to the place in the East every 16 years.

9 game schedule every 8 years if there are. No permanent cross opponents. If you have a permanent one it’s back to every 16.

It should be every team is in a pod of 4, you play your 3 plus 2 from each pod. Next year you play the other 2. This way you get to play everyone every 2 years as at their place every 4.

In order to make auburn happy you could do each team gets 3 permanent opponents and simply rotates the rest. You’d still play everyone every other year and at their place every 4, but I feel this would result in seriously unbalanced schedules where as the pods you could manipulate to be very balanced.

And pods make it highly likely you play a team 3 times in a year with a 12 team playoff...I'm a no on pods

The SEC is going to 10games when Texas and OU start play, I will take bets on that!

With the other 3 conferences boxing out the SEC that is all they can do to keep quality opponents on our schedule!

With Bama and Auburn in the east and a 9 game conference schedule there’s no need for permanent cross division games.
