Texas was only used as leverage to a bigger contract at Alabama. Saban to Texas was never real.

Is Sexton the shittiest negotiator of all time then? We offered Saban 10 mil a year and Sexton only got 7 out of Bama. No bidding war. Nothing.

Jimmy could have made a lot more money for himself had he got the deal made with Texas. Unfortunately for him, he couldn't.

That very statement tells you Coach Saban did not want to go to Texas, and was not going to go to Texas under any circumstances.

Saban wanting to stay at Bama for 7 rather than go to Texas for 10 proves he was never going to Texas.
