Clemson is on an upswing, but reality is they don’t have enough history, and likely enough future to be an independent. Enjoy the high, you guys will be mediocre again soon enough and FSU and Miami will, once again, push your shite in.

We can probably name at least 20 schools that are more of a national brand / all sports brand (including LSU) and they don’t have the support to go independent. OP is looking through some awful orange-colored glasses.

It could only happen if someone like Amazon ponied up top $. Then brokering better matchups instead of Cuse, Wake, BC, GT. At some point you think each team will broker their own TV deal and cut out the middle man (the conference). Why should LSU and Bama split money with Vandy and Kentucky?
