Mississippi has had 50 democratic governors and 7 Republican governors in its state history...
It's more fair to ask why states like Texas, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, etc. offer superior financial prosperity for middle class families opposed to states like Cali, NY, NJ, Massachusetts, etc.
