re: Bobby Bowden started head coaching in 1959. From 1959-2020 where does he rank all time.

Great list except Tressel. Schnellenberger, Jimmy Johnson, hell even Frank Broyles. Wait, scratch those. Gimme Bill Snyder in there and move Urban up to 3. If we want to rank great coaches.

yea such a great list, yet bowden was 6-2 against osborne....and he had to build the program himself. He is way better than osborne, didnt use juicing and partial qualifiers to get the program to where he wanted it.

switzer can claim more NCs but he was cheating his arse off at the time. in the 80s he went 84-22-2 vs Bowdens 77-27. Bowden had harder schedule and wasnt cheating.
over the next 10 years after switzer left, bowder went 119-15-1. Bowden was 21-9-1 in bowls vs 8-5 for switzer. Back then bowls held a ton of weight as OOC match ups.

paterno is laughable to have above bobby.

McKay and Meyer...fine. Tressel was great, especially when you factor in youngstown.
