Why would he?

Guy wanted an opportunity to be an on-field coach and Saban refused. So, he left.
What's wrong with a man wanting to advance himself?

Sounds like Saban was starting to push him out anyway

You have no idea what you're talking about. It came out Saban gave Scott the opportunity to sit in on coaches' meetings and learn the on-field aspect to earn the right to eventually interview for a position at Bama or elsewhere.
That wasn't good enough for Scott so he ran to his friend at UGA to give him a job over other more qualified candidates. And we see how that worked out.

If Saban was such a prick then why did Scott stay with him for almost 15 years. Saban/Bama made Scott one of the highest paid S&C coaches and gave him celebrity status, no other Strength coach had his own commercials.

Certainly worked out for Bama as they went out and got the guys who literally invented the way NFL and CFB does S&C. Certainly Bama players' ACLs appreciate it. Ligament injuries have gone down significantly for Bama.
