f you want to pump up recruiting stats from the 2000's which were several coaches and a conference change ago for both schools to make you feel better go for it. We can go back in time to the 80's and 90's too when A&M was winning 7 Conference Titles, cranking out great recruiting, and was a fixture in the Top 15.

No one GAS though, it's about where things are now. As of now A&M has put together multiple Top 10 Recruiting Classes. As of now A&M has 4 potential 1st Round Draft Picks playing for them. As of now we have Jimbo as our coach who has a Natty of his own and just won a NY6 last year. As of now we have one of the best stadiums and overall facilities in CFB, certainly to the point where no one has a distinctive advanatage over us like what Texas did in the '00s.

A&M was terrible the last decade in the Big 12, no getting around that. Outside of a few wins and the occassional bright spot it was a dark time. We bet big on the Fran hire and it failed miserably (ironically we fired him after 2 straight wins over Texas btw). The last decade has been decent but not great. 2 very good seasons and a lot of "meh", the trend is in the right direction though because all of the investments are paying off and we seem to finally have the right coach.

Texas certainly can win but you guys have some issues you need to figure out. Your OL/DL recruiting has been terrible and you simply cannot succeed in the SEC without winning the trenches. Sark is a risky hire as he did nothing at UW or USC and it's laughable to think he is the reason Bama is great. Early returns on recruiting are not impressive, especially for a new coach that should be able to sell the SEC. I guess we will see

Underrated post. Excellent take. A&M has more ground to gain certainly. But A&M isn’t what it was 10 years ago.
