LSU doesn’t have a NC in 1935.
Their fans are the only group to give them that claim and most of them don’t claim that
No publication gives them that.

This thread was the first I'd ever heard of it. Like I said I'm not gonna argue if they want to claim but I'd sure as hell never heard of LSU having a claim to that.
Helms titles are the only legitimate means of title claiming pre-NCAA tournament.
And to be fair, while the NCAAT started in 1939, the NIT was considered the more prestigious of the two tournaments at the time.
UK won the NIT in '46 and '76. The '76 obviously doesn't matter, but if we wanted to be insecure like Bama and claim titles, we could actually very legitimately add the '33 Helms and '46 NIT to our count and have 10 titles.
You do that and then look at how UK is number one in just soon many fricking CBB categories and all of a sudden the "hurr durr but UCLA has 11" stops.
Anyway that got way off subject. I don't think this LSU title claim is remotely legitimate based on anything any basketball blue bloods use but more power to em if they want to try.
