I don’t know man, but all things being equal someone would have to be a complete lunatic to choose a weekend trip to College Station over Austin. No one would make that choice, right?

Depends. A college football weekend? College Station. Hands down. I love CBF, hanging with other CFB fans, and tailgating. Lots of activity all over CS centered around gameday. Gameday in Austin sucks arse. No tailgating. Everything corperate feeling.

No football involved? Austin, but not downtown. Hit up all the breweries and pubs littered around the suburbs, and get out on the hiking and biking trails during the days.

Austin still has its good sides, but downtown and the bar scene ain't it anymore.

Would agree with this. Tailgating in Austin sucks but the city has some pretty interesting places to go out and explore. For tailgating, College Station has a good atmosphere but the town leaves a lot to be desired.
