Worked at a vet in high school. The DVM would stick the pill in back of the dog’s mouth then wipe it’s nose dry with the palm of his hand really quick. It’s pretty much an involuntary muscle reaction for the animal to immediately lick it’s nose to wet it again, thus causing it to swallow. We just didn’t have all day to hide medicine in treats.
