I’m with you OP. The sewage water brains in here are saying “but you play everyone 4 years rivalries aren’t touched!” But this system de facto destroys every rivalry except the main one (unless the team is shite like Tennessee.
There won’t be a pod with UGA/Bama/AU. So the UGA/AU rivalry for a hundred years will be dropped. LSU/Bama will be every other year. LSU/aTm will be every other year. Same with whatever rivalry is secondary for each team.
Rantards and casual fans will love it, but imagine a world where 2019 LSU just doesn’t play Bama. Or what happens if there is a 3 way 11-1 fight for the SEC championship. You can make the SEC the NFLjr but be ready for what that means

The pod system is ridiculous. I am amazed at the number of people all for it.
"Who cares about rivalry games"? I do. Rivalry games is what college football is built upon and what makes it special. It still irks me that we had to give up UF and it's thirty years later. Hell, UT is still a much more natural rival than LSU is.
