Violent Femmes and Talking heads for sure.

The Pixies.

Black Crows are a boomer dad rock band that tried to keep us in the 80's imo. I love them though.

So wrong.

If anything, Black Crowes were early-70s inspired. That was avante garde to do in the late 80s. By the late 80s, nothing was "less-cool" than 70s music.

Similarly, in the 1990s, 80s music (apart from some mentioned in this thread) was considered lame af.

I don’t get the downvotes. I love the Pizies. The Pixies were what your dad would have looked like if he were in a band.
